Agency, Leo Burnett hosted a letterpress prints exhibition at the Art Directors Club in an event titled ‘New York Writes Itself.’ Letterpress artists — including Swayspace, Center for the Book Arts, The KDU, Peter Kruty Editions and Tarhorse Press — were invited to create prints where they source their material from a scribe community that captured poignant New York moments on a digital platform.

This post is not about advertising, but about one of the purest forms of creativity ever: Music.
About two weeks ago I started a Twitter conversation with a Belgian guy. I followed him on twitter because he’s an online marketer who seemed to know what he was doing. Only, he appeared not to be just the regular online marketer.
The guy was into some good music. Techno. Underground techno. That deep kind of techno you hardly ever hear anymore.
At the end of our little cross-talk I had discovered that:
1. he had played at some parties I went to when I was younger, which was kind of funny and awesome at the same time..
and more importantly
2. he had started his own little techno label: Orbis Records.
“Just for fun”, to quote him.

I’m going to quit all the conversation bullocks and come to the point.
Lately I haven’t been as good of a Techno fan as I used to be. I became bored and annoyed of the shitty music most people call techno today.
Or it’s commercial crap labeled as techno, or it’s techno without the specific techno feeling you should get from techno music.
Just look at one of the biggest Techno events in Europe, I love Techno, or at least, what’s left of it.
I didn’t see a single Techno DJ in that line-up this year. Not one.
Pretty fucked up for an event called “I love Techno”. No?
Well, enough with the negative stuff, back to the positive thinking!
Orbis Records, a small label making BIG music.
I got sent some promo vinyl copies and CDs and I must say I’m very impressed.

This is the sound techno lovers are looking for. All of them. I heard stuff that sounded to me as if I had just put on a Plastikman record on my turntable. I heard deep and dubby techno and some pounding tracks too.
This label provides dark, deep and stripped down hypnotic techno music as wide as the box can get. THIS IS Techno!
Signed artists are: Alpha 303, Jeroen Search, Marc Trakker, Label owner Mr. Mau and Ozka.
People for whom making techno is about the music.
If you are a techno lover, go check them out.
If you used to be a techno lover, go check them out.
And to the people who don’t know what techno should sound like or could not appreciate it in the past..
check out Orbis Records on their website, Facebook Page or Twitter.
I’m going to finish off with some EP teasers.
Enjoy.
Power to the people! It could have been a street slogan in the late sixties’ cultural revolution. Insites Consulting created an overview of remarkable events of 2011 that show the power of the people in an ever changing internet era.

This is probably one of the most famous logos in this category. Just in case you’re somehow out of the loop, look between the “E” and the “x”. In the white space there is an arrow that subliminally represents speed and precision.

What do you people do when they want to locate the latest trends in Digital Marketing? Should they scan Twitter feeds or check Slideshare for interesting presentations? Should they conduct interviews with leading influencers in the business? I would say: start with the basics. Start with scanning the web and doing a Google Search.
